With the upcoming presidential election, we couldn’t resist asking Gary Simpkins to share his election buttons and memorabilia collection. He and his wife Carol have placed a display in the library to be viewed through mid-November. This collection is bi-partisan and spans over the last 20 elections going back to Franklin D. Roosevelt. Gary has even saved a can of “Gold Water” with the slogan “the right drink for the conservative taste,” from the Barry Goldwater presidential campaign from 1964. Come enjoy viewing this interesting collection celebrating one of our country’s greatest freedoms, the right to vote for our leaders.
Kathleen Lausterer has loaned the library her collection of t-shirts she has collected from her travels around the world. In our front entry display case, she has arranged them with tags from the country of each t-shirt’s origin. Come see this colorful collection!
