Weekly Newsletter ~ April 23, 2014

Mark your calendars for THIS Friday, April 25 and join The Heyworth History Club in the Heyworth Library Community Room at 10:30 a.m.  We meet on the fourth Friday of each month.  Join us as we investigate, record, and archive Randolph Township History.  We welcome anyone with an interest in history; or those who would like to add to the Alexander History Room collection.  Also join us for the Randolph Township History Symposium at the library on Tuesday, April 29, at 6 pm.  Come and view our past, share in our story, and keep it going.

History Mystery Photo #8 In 1928 the General Federated Women entered and won The Cleanest Town in IL (based on size/population) for the Village of Heyworth. The Village of Heyworth also won this award in 1929 and 1930 through the efforts of the GFWC. If you know any more details of this event, or the people sitting for the picture we would love to know more information. All three trophies are on display in the front case of the library until the end of April, along with a 1914 plat map of Randolph Township. The trophies are on loan from the Village of Heyworth.
