We are so looking forward to hosting McLean County local authors on May 31st from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.!  The library will be hosting FIVE local authors who will be available to meet/greet and sign their latest books.  This is the Saturday of HeyDays so mark your calendars!

We will also be kicking off our summer reading for all ages on May 31.  You can begin reading to fill in reading logs or summer reading bingo cards for prizes.  We are still compiling our prizes from local businesses.  Thank you to the First National Bank, Heyworth Subway, Casey’s, Hucks, Dower Auto Sales, Heyworth IGA, Heyworth Hardware, and Pit Row for your donations to the summer reading program.  If you have an item to donate for summer reading prizes, please call the library at 473-2313.

HeyDays Mclean County Authors Book Signing — Saturday May 31, 1 pm – 4 pm

  • Susan Kirby, children’s author, and adult romance and historical fiction. (1 pm – 3 pm)
  • Patti Lacy, author of Christian fiction, with her latest Reclaiming Lily.
  • Dr. Michael Lockett, The Normal Storyteller, his recent books are Sky Food, and Humpty Dumpty and The Great Fall.
  • Kathi Miller-Miller, with her recent book Your Journey from Fired to Hired.

Would you like start your own book club with a group of friends?  We can help with book selection, and loan the books you will need for your group.  Stop by today and ask for details.

Friday After School Movies, every Friday at 3:20 p.m.  For titles of our movies being shown stop by  the library for a flyer.

LEGO Block Party, after-school program, First Tuesdays at 3:45 p.m.

Come create, collaborate, and have fun with LEGOs!  This is open to first through eight graders. We have space for 15 children each month, please sign up in the library.

May 6

Reel Time/Real Talk, Second Mondays this spring at 6 pm.

Join us as we read the book and then meet to watch the movie.  We will then discuss which we liked better and why.  Open to all ages, and a great family activity!

May 12         Percy Jackson and the Olympians, The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan

The Society for Creative Destruction, after-school program, Third Tuesdays at 3:45 p.m.

Join us as we explore the art of another type of journaling, snacks provided.  Sign up is needed to have supplies ready.

May 20   LAST ONE until next school year!

Heyworth History Club, Fourth Friday mornings at 10 am.

All are welcome to join us in collecting and preserving Randolph Township history.
