Weekly Newsletter ~ September 25, 2014

Want to meet new people and expand your reading horizons?  Join our Monday Evening Book Club.  The book club will meet September 29 at 6:30 p.m. to discuss Brain on Fire by Susannah Cahalan.  October’s club choice is A Man Called Ove by Frederik Backman.  Copies are available at the library.  If you can’t make it monthly, drop in when your schedule allows. Newcomers are always welcome!

Have you dabbled in eBooks and downloadable audiobooks?  We have free access to OverDrive and axisReader with your Heyworth Public Library card. These are free apps to use on your portable devices or you can download through a computer and upload to devices that do not use Wi-Fi or apps.  There have been many upgrades to the software over the last six months.  If you tried it and didn’t like it, we highly recommend you give it another chance.  If you have been intimidated with the technology, call the library to set up a time to have one of the staff get you started on your eRead adventure. We are happy to show you how these apps work on your device.

OverDrive has increased its checkout and holds limits for eBooks and downloadable audiobooks to 5, which is the same as those for eRead Illinois. This means you can now check out 10 books at a time. Also don’t forget about our free music that you get to keep forever from Freegal. Download the free and legal Freegal app and start downloading your free 3 songs per week today with the use of your library card.  Happy eReading and listening!
