Trick or Treat at the library on October 30 from 5 – 8 p.m.  Come before, after, or during the Heyworth Halloween Parade!

BOOK SALE:  Stop by and grab some early holiday gifts or prepare for the winter by stocking up. Our book sale has moved out into the main area of the library for the remainder of October. Used books are great to take on vacation as well.  Read on the go and leave them behind as you finish them for the next person.  We have hardbacks, paperbacks, music CD’s, VHS movies (adult and children’s), and magazines.

Items we collect for our community:

  • Coupons for military families overseas
  • Gently used Hornet Shirts/Sweatshirts and gear
  • Box Tops for Education coupons
  • Coca-Cola Caps
  • HP ink cartridges

Items we are collecting for upcoming craft projects at the library:

  • Cereal Boxes – empty, clean, and not crushed
  • Pop can tabs
  • Fabric/satin type ribbon (all sizes)
  • Jute
  • Curling ribbon

Monday Evening Book Club, 4th Mondays at 6:30 p.m. No meeting in December.

Would you like start your own book club with a group of friends?  We can help with book selection and loan the books you will need for your group.  Stop by today and ask for details.

Family Story time, Thursday evenings at 6:15 p.m. (45 minute program)

October 23:  Last story time for 2014! It will be back for Spring 2015. Plan now to join us for a stories and a craft.  This evening is geared for pre-school – first grade, however the whole family is welcome to join in on the fun.

Friday Afterschool movies, 3:20 p.m. every Friday the library is open during the school year.

Anime Movie Saturdays at 10:30 a.m. (3rd Saturdays of each month)

November 15          Titles are available in the library.

Lego Block Party, 3:45 p.m. on the 1st Tuesday of each month

Nov 4           Next Lego Block Party, 1st grade – 8th grade.

Knitting for Beginners, 1st and 3rd Mondays of each month, 6:30 p.m. -7:30 p.m. We are thrilled to offer beginning knitting this fall!

November 3, 17:  6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.

Please bring:

  • 1 skein of your favorite color worsted weight wool or wool blend yarn.
  • 1 pair of needles: short, single-point, 8-10 inches long, plastic or wood, size 8, 9 or 10.
  • If you would like to wait until you pick your first project during the first class, we will have donated needles and yarn to use.

Must sign up to attend, limited space.  Available to anyone 4th grade and up.
