A REMINDER:  The Heyworth Public Library will host the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) on Friday, November 21.  LIHEAP representatives will be in the library to assist anyone that would like to apply from NOON through 3:30 p.m. Any questions regarding this program can be asked through Mid Central Community Action at 309-829-0691.

Plan to join the Heyworth History Club in January.  The NEW meeting dates are on the third Wednesdays of each month beginning January 2015.  We meet at the library in the Community Room at 10:30 a.m.  We will be planning monthly events and a Randolph Township Cemetery tour for this coming spring 2015. Bring your coffee cup and love of local history, and join us on a fascinating adventure piecing together our not so distant past in Randolph Township.

  • Gently used Hornet Shirts/Sweatshirts and gear
  • Box Tops for Education coupons
  • Coca-Cola Caps
  • HP ink cartridges

Items we are collecting for upcoming craft projects at the library:

  • Cereal Boxes – empty, clean, and not crushed
  • Pop can tabs
  • Fabric/Satin type Ribbon (all sizes)
  • Jute
  • Curling ribbon

Upcoming Programs:

Lego Block Party, 1st Tuesday of each month at 3:45 p.m. Afterschool snack, Lego games, and creative building.  Sign up at the library. 1st grade – 8th grade.

Knitting for Beginners, 1st and 3rd Mondays of each month, 6:30 p.m. -7:30 p.m. We are thrilled to offer beginning knitting! Must sign up to attend, limited space.  Available to anyone 4th grade and up.

Friday Afterschool movies, 3:20 p.m. every Friday the library is open during the school year. For a listing of titles being shown please stop by the library for a flyer. Bring your own snack and drinks with a screw cap lid.

Heyworth History Club, 3rd Wednesday mornings at 10:30 a.m. All are welcome to join us in collecting and preserving Randolph Township history.

The Creative Shrub Garden by Andy McIndoe was given in memory of Joann Dewey by Virgil and Marilyn Butler. ESPN the Magazine was given in memory of A.J. Hanlin by Dennis and Cathy Wentworth. Her Hometown Hero by Margaret Dailey was purchased by the library staff in memory of Joyce Crum.
