Weekly Newsletter ~ December 3, 2014

It is hard to believe December is here! We have just added a Family Movie Night with a holiday classic that is sure to please on Monday, Dec. 22 at 6 pm in the Community Room.  Plan on wearing a robe over your clothes and join the fun! Popcorn and water bottles provided. Also Dewey the Elf has arrived at the library. You can follow his elfish fun this December on our Facebook page.  He landed in the library with a G.I. Joe escort in a Humvee. He seems to be reading a library book each evening and having fun with the stories bringing them to life each morning. Plus our staff is busy planning the WINTER READ 2015 that will include our Blind Date with a Book.  We had so many requests to continue this event that it is definitely on the calendar for February 2015.

A Make It/Take It craft will be offered during December. All the supplies and instructions are provided on a central table in the library.  No reservations or planning around your schedule to come to a class.  During December we are offering the opportunity to make a gift bag from the pages of magazines.  They are a handy way to give gifts this season, and an excellent opportunity to recycle your favorite magazines.

The Heyworth History Club will begin monthly programs in the New Year.  Each 4th Tues of the month at 6 p.m. we will present a topic of interest given in the library at 6 pm.  Join us this January 27 to watch a documentary on the Interurban train (ILLINOIS TRACTION SYSTEM (INTERURBAN=ITS)) that traveled through Heyworth and McLean Co. Our programs will be posted in the library and on our website Jan – May 2015.
