Senior Citizen Assistance at the Library

Senior Citizen Assistance

Community Care Systems, Inc., Senior Information Systems Agency for McLean County, will be at the Heyworth Public Library on Wednesday, November 23, and Wednesday, December 28 from 10:00 a.m. – noon to assist people over the age of 60 and the disabled with Information and Assistance in filing for local, state, and federal programs.

Their main office is located at 616 IAA Drive, Bloomington, IL 61701.  CCSI, Senior Information Systems Agency for McLean County can be reached by calling 309-661-6400 or 1-888-322-5712.  Walk-ins accepted, no appointments necessary.

Gingerbread House Display Challenge!

Make and decorate a gingerbread house this fall to display at the library. Gather your family, your co-workers, your grandkids – whoever wants to take on the challenge to build a gingerbread house! No limitations on what you can build, but there is a size limitation – the base cannot be larger than a 12 inch square or 12 round cardboard cake base. The height is up to your ability to transport it to the library. Store bought gingerbread house sets make a wonderful starting point for this project!  Creators can drop off their gingerbread creation at HPLD between November 28 and December 2! So start planning your creation! A great family activity to do over the Thanksgiving break.

The library will display the gingerbread creations between November 28 and December 16 for the community to admire and choose their favorites. Ribbons will be awarded to all entries. Gingerbread creations can be picked back up beginning December 16.  All gingerbread creations must be picked up by December 23.
