We Are So Much Larger Than Our Walls questions@heyworthlibrary.com

Winter READ Continues Through March

It is tax time, and the Heyworth Public Library has the basic tax forms and instruction booklets freely available until supplies run out. If you need other tax forms, we are happy to look them up on the IRS or IL state gov. websites for you. We can print them for the fee of .15 cents per page.

Some important facts to remember this filing season:

The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program offers free tax help to people who generally make $54,000 or less, persons with disabilities and limited English speaking taxpayers who need assistance in preparing their own tax returns. IRS-certified volunteers provide free basic income tax return preparation with electronic filing to qualified individuals. To locate the nearest VITA or TCE site near you, use the VITA Locator Tool at http://go.usa.gov/kyrz or call 800-906-9887.

Senior citizen assistance will be at the library on Wednesday, March 22 from 10:00 am – Noon to assist people over the age of 60 and the disabled with Information and Assistance in filing for local, state, and federal programs. Senior Citizen Assistance is available from Community Care Systems, Inc., Senior Information Systems Agency for McLean County. Their main office is in Bloomington, IL and can be reached by calling 309-661-6400 or 1-888-322-5712. Walk-ins accepted at the library, no appointments necessary.

Novel Destinations continues through the month of March as we encourage all ages to read for fun prizes. You will receive a ticket for every book, audiobook, eBook or magazine checked out. The tickets will go in a drawing of your choice. Prizes are on display in the library.

We are so much larger than our walls.
