Read For Prizes in March!

The Heyworth Public Library has moved to free DVD lending. All DVD’s are free to loan for a 7-day period. Also, the fines have been lowered to be the same as books loaned at the library. (5 cents a day for children’s materials with a max cost of $2.00 per item and 10 cents a day for adult and young adult items with a max cost of $3.00 per item.) We encourage anyone interested in DVD loan to place a hold on the titles they are wanting, especially newer titles.

The Winter Read 2019 continues during the month of March. Read any book, audio book, magazine, eBook, or digital audio book and receive a ticket to place in a drawing of your choosing. Prizes will be awarded on April 1, no fooling! All ages can participate, only materials checked out from Heyworth Public Library District are eligible for tickets with over 20 prizes available.

Thank you to those who have donated prizes! We could not offer the Winter Read without your support. We have a Prairie Fire Grill- $10.00 gift certificate, a Dowers Auto Sales – a FREE Standard Oil change, Nancy Beveridge donated five Dr. Seuss books, and many other individuals donate items all year for our reading prizes who wish to be anonymous.

Our Sixth Annual Blind Date with a Book has come to a close. Those who have checked out a ‘blind’ date today or the last week have until March 21 to read their ‘Blind Date’ and turn in their ‘Rate Your Date Book Marks’ for a prize. The children’s Blind Date with a Book ends today February 28. We look forward to continuing this fun event in 2020!

It is tax time, and the Heyworth Public Library has the basic tax forms and instructions booklets freely available until supplies run out. If you need other tax forms, we are happy to look them up on the IRS or IL state government websites for you. We can print them for the fee of 15 cents per page.
