Love eBooks and Digital Audiobooks?

How is the Libby app working for you? It’s the new free app replacing the OverDrive app that provides Heyworth Public Library patrons with free eBooks and digital audiobooks. We LOVE it and want more of our community to know about it. We recommend you install the new Libby app and then uninstall OverDrive. The Libby app is much simpler to use and navigate. Don’t forget to use our other Axis 360 app for eBooks and digital audiobooks, too.

We also offer the free Bookmyne app for patrons to control their account and provide a simple search of the Heyworth Public Library’s physical items available for checkout. You can place holds and view your checkouts, know due dates, and renew as long as the item has no one else waiting on it. We still recommend the RSACAT, our online catalog, for a more complete search of all 150+ libraries, however Bookmyne is fast and handy for that quick search to know if an item is sitting on our shelves before you come into the library or just want to place a hold when we are not open. You can also log into the Bookmyne app to know all that you have checked out, due dates, and renew your items within the app. The real beauty of Bookmyne is for families. You can have more than one library card logged into the app and toggle between accounts to know all the items checked out with the due dates. Bring your device in and we will gladly give you a tutorial on how to use the library apps: Libby, Axis 360, or BookMyne.

New features to Libby:

MORE OPTIONS FOR TAGGED TITLES

Using tags is a powerful way to track books you’ve loved or want to read in the future. Based on popular request, you can now borrow or place a hold on titles directly from your Tags shelf. Tagged titles also show options to read a sample of that book or learn more about it.

UNDERSTAND YOUR READING PROGRESS AND CURRENT LOAN STATUS

For books you’ve started reading you’ll now see a progress bar on your loans shelf indicating how far along you are. On this shelf you’ll also see how much longer you have that title for.

LIBBY SHELF TIPS

You’ll also notice helpful shelf tips above your loans and holds. These new tips give you important contextual information about your books, including when titles are ready to renew, how many other users are waiting, and prompts to early return.

LIBBY SHELF SUMMARY

The Shelf Summary is a new view that highlights your current read, new and expiring loans, any holds that are ready to borrow, and other helpful information about your books.
