Winter Read 2022: Let the Games Begin!

Join us for Winter Read 2022!  We are reading for prizes during the month of January.  Earn tickets by reading or listening to books, magazines, and audiobooks.  Tickets can be entered into a prize drawing of your choice.  Reading or listening on one of our apps?  Those count too!  Just let a staff member know you need a ticket.

Vaccine and Booster Clinic

The library will be hosting an IDPH Vaccine and Booster Clinic on Saturday, January 8, 2022, from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. Pfizer, Moderna, and J&J vaccines and boosters will be available.  Links to register for the clinic and to download a consent form, if needed for minors, are available at heyworthlibrary.com.  Walk-ins will be accepted.  Call the library at 309-473-2313 for more information.

Upcoming Programs

Adventure Book Club for 4th – 8th graders meets on the fourth Thursday of each month at 3:30 p.m.  Join us on January 27 for a fun discussion of Keeper of the Lost Cities by Shannon Messenger.  Books are available at the circulation desk for checkout. 

Arts and Crafts for children is offered on the first Wednesday of each month at 1 p.m.  This program is cancelled for January and will return February 2.

Books, Tea, and Conversation is a book club for adults that meets on the first Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m.  Books are available at the circulation desk for checkout.

Little Bricks & Big Ideas, a Lego building group, meets with April Fisher, the Lego Lady, on the second Wednesday of each month during the school year.  Children, kindergarten – 6th grade, are invited to join us for an hour of creative building.

Senior Information and Assistance is provided by Community Care Systems of McLean County at the library on the fourth Wednesday of each month from 10:00 a.m. – noon.  They assist people over the age of 60 and those with special needs with filing for local, state, and federal programs. CCSI, Senior Information Systems Agency for McLean County, can also be reached by calling 309-661-6400.  Walk-ins are accepted.  The January outreach has been cancelled by Community Care due to high COVID numbers.  They plan to return in February.

The library will be closed Monday, January 17, for Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
