Weekly Newsletter ~ February 5, 2015

Despite what the calendar says or outdoor temperatures, we are looking towards spring! Thank you to Christine Hearn for graciously planning a fun Saturday program in April (11th) for our teens to learn simple ways to get glamorous hair for a big dance or celebration. Limited space, sign up in library.

Blind Date with a Book and our monthly drawing for Dr. Seuss books have begun for the month of February.  Stop in and grab one of our Blind Dates! It’s free, low-fat, and is only available during the month of February. You might just fall in love with a new author, genre, or your library all over again.

Family Storytime also began TONIGHT!  Our Thursday evening program will run February 5th through March 19th and meet at 6:15 p.m. for a 45 minute program of reading, crafts, songs, and games.  The focus is on Pre-K through 1st grade children – however the WHOLE family is encouraged to attend with older or younger siblings.

Items the library collects for our community:

  • Coupons for military families overseas
  • Gently used Heyworth Hornet Shirts/Sweatshirts and branded athletic gear

Upcoming Heyworth Public Library Programs:

Month of February:

Blind Date with a Book: Come in and choose a wrapped up book as your “blind date”. Give it a read, then fill out our “Rate Your Date” book mark and return it with the book. The rating slips will be entered into a drawing for one of two library tote bags.  We aren’t arranging marriages and not a dime has to be spent!

Celebrate Dr. Seuss’s Birthday: Join us this February as we read for prizes!  For every book, audiobook, or magazine checked out in February, a ticket will be given to be included in drawings to win one of five Dr. Seuss books donated by our local General Federated Woman’s Club of Heyworth (GFWC). You may choose the book you want to be entered to win. The drawing will be held on March 2, Dr. Seuss’ birthday.
