Year Long 75th Birthday Celebration Has Begun

The library joined the Barn Quilt Heritage Trail of McLean County as a part of Heyworth Public Library’s yearlong 75th birthday celebration. On May 19, a 3 x 3 foot Railroad Crossing quilt block was installed near the front entrance to the library. Local artist, and member of BQHT of Mclean County, Mary Jane Zook, painted the quilt pattern on a prepared surface for this outdoor installation. Also on display are quilts created in Randolph and/or Downs Township. They can be viewed on the rafters in the main public area of the library through May 28.

Thank you to the over 30 individuals, families, and businesses that gave memorial donations to the library in Marilyn Butler’s memory. She will be greatly missed in our community. She served on the HPLD library board of trustees for many years and continued to support the library after her service on the board.
